Coachella 2026 was the best year yet.

The Soundtrack to One of the Most Exciting Weekends of the Year.

If there’s one word to describe Coachella this year, it’s electric. From the moment the gates opened in the California desert, the energy felt nonstop; music blasting from every direction, fans dressed in bold festival fashion, and artists delivering performances that turned the entire weekend into one massive celebration.

Held over two weekends in April at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, from April 10-12 and April 17-19, 2026, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival once again proves why it remains one of the most talked-about music events in the world. The lineup sold out quickly, and the social media feeds were flooded with clips, outfits, vlogs, and unforgettable moments that kept people talking long after the final set ended.

This year felt especially lively because the performances were bigger, louder, and more theatrical than ever. It was truly the first year I experienced “fomo” from not being there. Every stage had something happening: dancers, lights, fireworks, and crowds singing every word back to their favorite artists. Even people watching from home through livestreams could feel the excitement. It wasn’t just a concert; it felt like a full-on party that lasted two weekends.

The Headliners

The festival was led by three major pop powerhouses: Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G. Each headliner delivered a completely different vibe, which kept the festival feeling fresh from night to night.

Sabrina Carpenter opened the weekend with a performance that felt playful and theatrical. Performing hits like “Espresso,” “Feather,” “Taste,” “Tears,” Please Please Please,” “Manchild,” and more. Her set features elaborate staging, colorful visuals, and surprise appearances from celebrities and guest performers, turning the show into a full production rather than just a concert. Fans were dancing, screaming, and filming every second, especially during her biggest hits. Her performances set the tone for the rest of the festival, fun, dramatic, and high-energy.

Justin Bieber took the stage on Saturday nights, bringing a mix of nostalgia and excitement. His performance blended classic hits and newer tracks from his albums SWAG and SWAG II, and the crowd responded instantly, singing along to nearly every song. He performed songs including “Speed Demon,” “Walking Away,” “Stay,” “Baby,” “Beauty and a Beat,” “Sorry,” and more. The atmosphere felt emotional yet celebratory, especially when surprise guests joined him onstage. By the end of the night, the crowd was fully energized and buzzing about the show.

Then came Karol G, who closed out the festival with a performance that felt like a massive celebration of Latin music and culture. Her set was loud, colorful, and full of energy, with dancers, special guests, and a crowd that refused to sit still. She also made history as the first Latina artist to headline the festival, making the moment even more exciting for fans. Her set included hits like “Latina Foreva,” “Oki Doki,” “Mamiii,” “TQG,” and more. The Columbia superstar used her moment in weekend two to announce her next big move: a highly anticipated tour in support of her fourth studio album, Tropicoqueta.

Surprise Guests/Viral Performances

One of the best parts of Coachella is always the surprises, and this year did not disappoint. Some of the most talked-about moments came when unexpected artists appeared on stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The biggest surprise of the festival came when pop legend Madonna joined Sabrina Carpenter during her set of “Juno”. The crowd erupted as the two performed classic songs together, including “Vogue” and unreleased tracks like “Bring Your Love” and “Like a Prayer,” creating one of the most memorable moments of the entire weekend. Fans immediately flooded social media with videos, and the performance quickly became one of the most viral highlights of the festival.

Another big surprise of the evening was when Justin Bieber brought out two special guests, including SZA and Billie Eilish. Justin brought Eilish to the stage as his “lonely girl,” where she fangirled over her love for Bieber’s music growing up. SZA joined Justin onstage to perform their remixed acoustic version of “Snooze.” A ballad that sounded ethereal live from ear to ear. Other artists brought out special guests, debuted new music, and created moments designed to get people talking. These surprise appearances kept the energy high and made every night feel unpredictable in the best way possible.

The Lineup

While the headliners drew the biggest crowds, the rest of the lineup was just as exciting. Dozens of artists performed across multiple stages throughout the day and night, giving fans endless options to explore. From hip-hop to rock and electronic music, there was something for everyone.

Artists like PinkPantheress, Addison Rae, Young Thug, and KATSEYE helped keep the festival lively from morning to midnight. Some performances felt intimate and emotional, while others turned into full-scale dance parties with crowds jumping and singing along. The variety of music styles made the festival feel nonstop and dynamic, with something new happening every hour.

Addison Rae performed songs like “Diet Pepsi” and “Fame is a Gun.” Her set also included the live debut of “Drop Dead” with surprise guest Olivia Rodrigo during weekend two. Rodrigo joined the stage just as Rae sang the line, “I compare myself to the new IT girl,” where they then surprised us by dueting on Rae’s song “Headphones On.” Teddy Swims performed his global hits “Lose Control” and “The Door,” bringing out Joe Jonas and David Lee Roth during weekend one. KATSEYE gave us an energetic, vibrant performance of “Touch” and “Debut,” and was one of the festival’s standout new acts. PinkPantheress features songs like “Pain” and “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2,” with guest appearances from Zara Larsson and Janelle Monáe.

There were many encounters on the Coachella stage from Young Thug performing with Camila Cabello and Ty Dolla $ign to Sexyy Red bringing out Lizzo during her weekend one set. The Lineup surely was not hesitant to bring out special guests and surprises for fans.

Even smaller stages were packed with fans discovering new artists, proving that Coachella isn’t just about the biggest names; it’s also about the experience of finding new music and enjoying the atmosphere.

Fashion, Friends, and Festival Vibes

Beyond the music, the festive atmosphere itself was a huge part of the excitement. Coachella has always been known for its unique thriftable fashion, and 2026 continued that tradition with bold outfits, creative accessories, and colorful styles filling the desert. People treated the festival like a runway, showing off looks that were fun, expressive, and sometimes completely over the top.

Some of my fashion favorites were Teyana Taylor in custom Revolve by Schiaparelli. She paired the look with these Schiaparelli silver chrome bug-eye sunglasses with a built-in arched brow detail. She absolutely served here. James Charles, during Day 2 of Coachella, came in a vibrant, denim off-the-shoulder crop with lime colored stringed accessories and colorful eyeshadow. He styled this look with neon blue and pink parachute pants and a chrome shoulder purse. I’m obsessulated by this look by James; it was my personal favorite during Day 2 of Coachella.

Winniw Harlow looked outstanding in this mustard yellow crop top paired with patchwork flare jeans and kinky curly hair. The look featured custom jewelry, including the “Home” cuff. Amazing ten out of ten, stunning. One of the last fits I saw, but certainly not the least impactful, was Olandria. She wore a leather bralette-style top with a strapless design and a plunging neckline. She paired it with a matching high-waisted micro skirt featuring belt-style accents for perfect cohesion. Carthen completed the look with cowboy-style boots and a hat to match the cowboy theme.

The Encore

At the end of the day, Coachella 2026 was all about energy, excitement, and unforgettable performances. The festival brought together huge stars, passionate fans, and nonstop entertainment, creating an atmosphere that felt vibrant from the first performance to the final encore.

It was loud. It was colorful. It was chaotic in the best way possible. And most importantly, it was fun.

Whether people attended in person or watched from home, one thing was clear: the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lived up to the hype and reminded everyone why festival season is one of the most exciting times of the year. Can’t wait to be there next time!
